MIKE MCDOLE is an author, professional keynote speaker, sales and leadership coach, and entrepreneur. His passion for sales started at a young age while growing up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he engaged his parents’ many neighbors by mowing lawns and shoveling driveways for extra cash to fund his desire for sports equipment and athletic shoes.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Mike attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he achieved his bachelor’s degree while majoring in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He was also the president of his honors fraternity, ETA Sigma Delta. He achieved his Master’s degree as part of the Executive MBA program at the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Mike’s first professional sales role was in the hotel business for Marriott Hotels and Resorts, where he learned many of the foundational values to be successful in sales. His focus, drive, and determination allowed him to advance quickly up the ranks to the National Account Management team as a Director of National Accounts. After spending nine years with Marriott, he realized that he wanted to be a more valuable contributor to society, and sensing that his passion for sales could be better capitalized on, he transitioned into a career in pharmaceutical sales.
Mike’s eighteen-year career in biotech/pharmaceutical sales has afforded him experiences in a wide range of aspects in the sales spectrum, starting in primary care, then moving on to specialty and then hospital sales, in disease state specialties, including cardiovascular and oncology. He has held a wide range of leadership positions in these different specialties in both small and large companies with various cultures. He has been a regional sales manager leading a team of district managers, to a field sales trainer where he coached his peers to greatness, as well as working in a matrix environment as a key account manager where he had to lead teams, set business objectives, and guide initiatives of people who did not report to him. Mike’s experience includes many additional sales leadership titles, including corporate account director, regional account manager, district sales manager, and regional sales manager.
Mike has been successful in both his sales and sales leadership roles as reflected in his receiving awards for sales excellence, award trips to places like Cancun, Hawaii, and the South of France, and significant cash and options bonuses.
Mike currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his lovely wife, Karol, and two dogs, Swagger and Bella.
